A data snapshot on industry need
We recently published a deep dive into ABA care deserts across the country, and we wanted to share a few numbers that stood out.
Under conservative workforce planning models, one BCBA serves a caseload of about 8 clients. Eight children. Eight sets of parents researching therapy options at midnight. Eight families rearranging work schedules around session times.
Nationally, the data suggests we're short an estimated 288,000 BCBA-level clinicians. That's not an abstract policy number—it translates to roughly 2.3 million families navigating waitlists and long drive times to access care.
